Though I like the look of strawberries, I’m not much of a fan of the actual fruit. Mostly because I tend to have very bad luck when it comes to picking strawberries, so I usually end up with a really sour batch. Not so, today! These may be the best strawberries I have ever had (which makes me wonder just how modified they may be… best not think about that).
And onto other silly things… Didymus has found a new bed. My grandmother’s nightgown. He attacks anyone who dares take it away from him, but he behaved very nicely while I photographed him… He’s a bit of a cam tart.
Tired of the last layout, so I’m using a temp layout while I modify the css and customize the header… bear with while I tweak.
Done tweaking, everything should work now.
Now, I really should do some reading. I’ve been distracting myself with site stuff during the last two days. 😦 Need to get rid of that guilty feeling… the one where I know I have a ton of stuff to do and my excuse for putting it all off is weak at best.
Installed PHPFan on my fanlisting collective and could not be more pleased 🙂 . I wanted something light and easy-to-use and this script fit the bill.
I have been hooked on Colour Lovers ever since I stumbled across the site a couple of months ago, so I finally took the plunge and colored a pattern of my own.
Here it is:

Very excited! The Jareth Fanlisting has finally reached the 1000 member count 🙂 . I opened this fanlisting back in 2000, when The Fanlistings was still a dot com and Janine was doing all the work. It was my very first fanlisting and remains my one true webby love.
Because of the huge budget cuts that they’ve been forced to make, the university that I attend is going to cut 17 degree programs. Why do I get the feeling that English is going to get the boot?
We have a few outdoor kitties that we feed, so we set out a bowl of water and some dry food overnight to tide them over until they get their breakfast. Lately, the dry food has been gone by morning and the water has been really filthy… turns out we have a frog that intimidates all the cats and then eats their food! It’s a bully frog!
I once heard that frogs are a sign of a healthy ecosystem… I can’t vouch for that, but maybe it’s a sign of tasty kitty kibble. Let there be tadpoles!
The funny thing is that my dad has actually suggested that I do this…
I am a huge Bowie fan. Anyone who knows me really well knows that my obsession can be a bit much at times. So, a couple of weeks ago I went on a closet cleaning frenzy and did what I had been threatening to do for ages: I uploaded all by Bowie albums onto Cassius (Cassius being my iPod. That could be read in so many ways, otherwise.).
Now, I love Bowie and every so often I feel like I rediscover him again. For example, when I’ve gone for months without listening to a certain song and I hear it and remember when I first heard it. It’s like re-reading a favorite book, or watching a movie you loved as a kid (though that didn’t go very well for me when I watched “The Little Mermaid” as an adult and realized how very inappropriate it can be. Still love it, but can’t help but be a little struck by the fact that Ariel is only sixteen… but I digress). Anyhow, I put Bowie on a loop, all 253 tracks. For about 2 weeks. It was supposed to keep me alert while writing, but even I am a little sick of it now.
Now, I’ve rediscovered Moby… 🙂
Everything should be up and running…
Links … check.
Fanlisting site and collective pages are working and valid.
Some credits before I start:
WordPress is genius. I don’t know why I was so afraid to use it. I think MovableType scarred my blogging experience, but… NO MORE!
The header image was found through Stock.Xchng. The Pattern through Colour Lovers. I’m using a free WP theme until I find more time to customize the layout.
Finally, I’d like to thank Banshee for hosting me on her domain while I took a break from the net :).
And now, after a very long day, I’m off to bed.
