It’s October! My Whole30 just ended and I’ve started reintroducing the two grains I really miss: rice and oats. I don’t eat these every day, but I definitely miss them, and the chicken tikka I just made will taste much better with basmati than zucchini (IMHO).
Still no car but twitter came to the rescue (yes! it really did!) and I managed to finally get my claim reassigned to someone who is not out of the office for the next two weeks. I’ve started wrapping my head around the idea that I will need to buy a new car for the second time in two years, so my mood is finally starting to lift. Which really means I’m feeling much more positive about life in general and I’m starting to get back to a regular routine.
Today has been a day for writing, cooking, and walking, which is a sign that things are looking up.
Lazy kitty spent all morning watching me write.
Lazy weekend writer selfie, sans makeup and ready for October.
Totally not Whole30 biscuit. I was in heaven.
Hope your Sunday is looking up too!
I completely lost track of time this weekend. Had a lovely, adventure-filled Saturday with the auntie and bébé, followed by movie night with the boy, while Sunday was full of family goodness… all with a side of de-cluttering. I’m on a roll, people. It’s finally coming together (or coming apart, I should say). I finally found the courage to part with stuff that belonged to my cat (I just couldn’t bear to sort it after he died and ended up stuffing it in the back of the closet), as well as some handmade scarves that my mom knit (too many, she was in a knitting frenzy). I kept what I like and what really matters, but the rest will be donated and handed down.
Sad to say, I still have the mites. Not the terrible infestation it was at first, but I do see a few from time to time. Just have to keep at it, I guess.
On a brighter note, I met my Camp goal on Saturday (!) and celebrated by purchasing a couple of crystals at the craft bazaar we visited later that day. Malachite plays a rather significant part my current (never ending) WIP, and citrine is a personal favorite.
I’ll be better about pictures next week…
Everything sort of happened at once this weekend. My new laptop arrived (just in time to replace my soon to be defunct system). I went on a trip to Epcot and I drove part of the way! In a rented car! In the dark and rain!!!! This is a big step for me, as I generally panic at the thought of driving a strange car. And a few writing projects kind of ganged up on me during my time away. Oh well, at least I’m almost done making this thing look like my old computer, though transferring music and pictures has been a long, arduous process. I clearly need to get rid of some of the stuff in my Itunes library, but at least I now have the space and speed to run it without a hitch.
