life: plot twist re: travel plans

Soooo the choice to cancel was made for me… I was packing for my trip when the university sent out a campus-wide memo telling all students, faculty, and staff to cancel non-essential travel.

So I won’t be going to Knoxville.

The part of me that wanted to go to the conference and this lovely city is disappointed. The part of me that wants to avoid the virus is doing ok.

And I was so proud of my minimalist packing system.

  1. At this point, I’m starting to wonder if our trip in May will be canceled, especially as we’re sailing out of Seattle. Or maybe things will have calmed down by then. I don’t know. I still can’t determine how much of this is appropriate attention and how much is overreaction and panic. Of course I think taking the precautions of avoiding crowds as much as possible, washing hands, etc is okay, but the toilet paper rush and such? That’s all just a bit extreme, I think. I don’t know. I guess I’m just waiting to see how this all develops.
